After a respite, Cruz again questioning McConnell's strategies
Source: The HILL
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), who has been more of a team player since losing the 2016 GOP presidential primary to Donald Trump, is reemerging as an agitator in the GOP conference.
Cruz is questioning Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnells (R-Ky.) strategy on the GOP's 2018 agenda, which is to steer clear of partisan bills that dont have Democratic support.
Cruz, who is up for reelection this year and faces a spirited challenger in Rep. Beto ORourke (D), is leading a group of restive conservatives who want to vote on a budget resolution that would set up a special process known as reconciliation to allow the GOP to pass ambitious legislation, such as an ObamaCare repeal, with a simple majority.

Cruz worries the time for passing lasting legislative reforms might be limited given the widespread perception that Democrats have a good chance of winning back the House next year. Those concerns are shared by many conservatives in the House, who communicate regularly with Cruz.

Unless he runs for Governor or something like that. Then he can compete with all the other Evilangelicals for the frantic conservative snowflake vote.

How is it possible the worst human beings alive like Cruz gain so much acceptance and power? What is so terribly wrong with either us or our system or both that the most horrid people alive, Rump, Cruz, Kushners, are wealthy and powerful and decent people barely can pay their bills?
I dont like it.

(129,399 posts)They already tried that and it failed (see McCain).
And from the OP article -
Sen. Lisa Murkowski (Alaska), one of three Republicans who voted last year to kill the so-called skinny repeal of ObamaCare, says she doesnt want to plunge back into the health-care debate.
I am not enthusiastic about that at all. Not at all, she said. It would be one thing if somebody had the plan. Whats the proposal? Are we just going to go through an exercise with no plan? We did that and it didnt work too well.
They really don't have "an effective majority of 50" when it comes to this and not just due to Murkowski but due to Collins. And Paul would purportedly want a complete repeal or nothing at all.

Cruz will lose if the people keep doing what they are doing now. Registered and ready for Nov. . Cruz , the most hated person in all of Congress, even his own party people want him gone he's so bad.
