China's Response to Trump Tariffs: 'They Go Low, We Go High'

Source: The Daily Beast

China on Wednesday vowed to hit back after President Trump threatened to unleash tariffs on another $200 billion worth of Chinese goods. Li Chenggang, an assistant minister at China’s Ministry of Commerce, quoted former first lady Michelle Obama and Trump rival Hillary Clinton in responding to the latest tariffs, saying that when “they go low, we go high.” Li accused the White House of escalating the trade war and bringing the global trade environment to its “darkest hour.” The Chinese Commerce Ministry said it was “shocked” by the new “totally unacceptable” tariffs and promised to take “necessary countermeasures” but did not specify how or when it would retaliate.

Because Trump sees the world as revolving around him. Stop production of all Ivanka Trump items? Stop making MAGA merchandise?

response that could hurt america unilaterally....The could do 30-60 day trade embargo to prevent all shipments from leaving China/ Since we have "just in time" mentality, wouldn;t take long to run supplies out that affects US manufacturing and US consumers. China could announce dropping US debt purchase, dump debt they own or announce alliance with OPEC, Russia and EU with dumping US dollar as world reserve currency and going to a crypto-exchange they all been working on....

Putin couldn't be happier

have the majority of the seats at the table but it's in a game that no one will really win as a trade war will hurt them just as bad.

Cancel his trademarks, close his hotel projects. Hold up all his fabulous tie shipments. Shutter the son in laws family businesses in China, Stop the Ivanka fashion shipments. Increase to 400% the tariffs on Bourbon and US tobacco.
