In an interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence senior Democrat Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) was asked what he made of Trump’s recent summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin, with Schiff saying Trump acted like a man who has something to hide.

The ABC host got right to the point, asking, “Just bluntly, do you believe he is compromised by Vladimir Putin?”

Schiff said that it appeared so.

“I certainly think he’s acting like someone who’s compromised, and it may very well be that he is compromised or it may very well be that he believes that he’s compromised, that the Russians have information on him,” he replied.

The House member and former prosecutor — who has been on the receiving end of insults from the Republican president — then informed the ABC host that his investigators have been blocked by Republicans from being allowed to look at the Trump Organization’s books.

5. Unfortunately, since Schiff and Lieu are both from California, they couldn't run

on the same Pres/VP ticket. (Although, Bush & Cheney were able to do it.) Maybe we could one of them to move out of CA and then run on same ticket down the road. Or, maybe we can just ignore the rules like the Repubs do Schiff/Lieu would make an awesome team.

I admire those congressmen, too, and I wish all of them long, successful, and very visible and effective political lives.

Really, the complicity of the congressional Republicans in Trump's attempts to suppress the investigation is despicable - and unprecedented, at least in my lifetime.

I want ALL OF them gone at this point, with - in addition to the departure of everyone in the Trump White House - the permanent exit, and exile, of Nunes, Rohracher, and McConnell at the top of my congressional list, along with Ryan (I know he's "retiring," but I don't want to see him with ANY public role after November) - oh, actually, ALL of the congressional Republicans. ALL of them.

Hopefully, after the midterm elections, Schiff will become the Chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, instead of merely being the "senior Democrat" on this extremely important committee.
