Trump Blasts 'Globalist' Koch Brothers as 'Total Joke': 'I Don't Need Their Money'

Source: Mediaite

On Tuesday morning, President Donald Trump opened fire on Republican billionaire donors the Charles and David Koch, blasting them as “globalists” with bad ideas. He called them a “total joke” and said he has “beaten them at every turn.”

“The globalist Koch Brothers, who have become a total joke in real Republican circles, are against Strong Borders and Powerful Trade,” he tweeted. “I never sought their support because I don’t need their money or bad ideas. They love my Tax & Regulation Cuts, Judicial picks & more.”

“I made…them richer,” he continued in a second missive. “Their network is highly overrated, I have beaten them at every turn. They want to protect their companies outside the U.S. from being taxed, I’m for America First & the American Worker – a puppet for no one.

“Two nice guys with bad ideas. Make America Great Again!”

Trump has a self-destructive mania for befriending his enemies and making enemies of his friends. His worst opponents may not be among forces on his left but among the establishment on the right: FBI, CIA, NSA, entrenched Republicans. He may be right that the "deep state" is out to get him. He's given them good cause. Who, for example, leaked the intel about ICBM development in North Korea? I'm sure the White House did not want to publish such embarrassing news.

The Kochs are a big target and have much more money than Trump but he does not represent their vision for the US, which is just as warped and would be just as destructive if implemented. This is a time to actively encourage Trump and the Kocks to go after each other.

BTW, the Kochs (Charles and David) are worth a combined $103.4 Billion

Nobody should have that much wealth. It is intrinsically corrupting.

He's got Sheldon Adelson and the Mercers money too....it's the clash of the Titans, I mean billionaires. Still don't think the rest of the GOP who depend on the Koch Bros to get elected will be too pleased. Wonder if the Kochs like Kavanaugh?

to trump’s point: “They love my Tax & Regulation Cuts, Judicial picks & more.” - that's true.

The Koch brothers have some major issues with trump -

but trump’s trade policies are hurting their businesses

trump has succeeded in waking up Americans - and this has put the Koch’s long-term agenda in danger. The more activism inspired by trump, the less influence ALEC and AstroTurf groups like the Tea Party will have on Americans.

That’s why they’re complaining about trump being ‘divisive’ - they don’t want people paying attention to what’s going on.

Plus, they are Libertarians with a capital L - don't believe for a second that they have any good intentions for our democracy.....so centrist corporate leaning Democrats shouldn't fall for this carrot and stick routine of the Kochs. They don't have any one's interests at heart but their own of course but they will use either party to get their agenda back on track. I also think, since Kochs specifically mentioned Heidi Heitcamps opponent as a GOP Senator they can't support....that they are trying to peel off Democrats from maintaining a strong united front in voting for Kavanaugh... Don't fall for it Heidi.

Movie story here. US millionaires decide to back a different GOP candidate in 2020 & it looks promising. But, oh my! Vlad still wants his puppet, so the puppet wins. US millionaires finally realize that the electronic voting system they were so okay with because it was hackable, & the Citizen's United decision they were so happy with because they could saturate the electoral process with their money/free speech, has been hijacked by someone with more money/free speech than them & with a completely different agenda than them.

Nah! To unbelievable.

I believe the Russians could care less about tRump's security and that their primary goal is to create chaos and division in Western democracies. At some point, they may decide they will get the most potent results by letting go of tRump and unleash the dogs of kompromat. Assuming he crashed and burned, that would create an immediate outcry by his base and lots of violence.

I suspect they would then support another right-winger (perhaps Pence) and redirect their twitter and facebook trolls.....

44. Not kidding. DU sees Koch make noises over medicare for all. Republicans are playing everyone.
Tue Jul 31, 2018, 04:59 PM
Jul 2018

Here's why.

For all of Trump's v. globalist v Koch rhetoric of late, the Kochs are actually working in tandem with the Republicans to raid Social Security.

Koch funded a study on Medicare for All saving the country trillions? Come on. Everyone here knows -- and Koch knew -- that the Obama administration and Bernie Sanders had come up with those numbers before his Mercator Boyz at George Mason did.

Others DUers with a well-founded distrust of the Kochs, have said that Koch conveniently gets a shot at their companies' saving millions in employee-based health care.

Overall, the way Trump Republicans see it, when you fear a big voter turnout coming against your party, it's time to pivot to playing "the good party" to win elections. That's when people will forgive and forget Republicans have been consistently up to no good for anyone.

NO Republicans -- Trumpers or pre-Trump Republicans-- ever write good policy or bills for Americans, whether foreign or domestic, and yet steal every good idea from Democrats when they need a hail mary pass because they can't cheat their way into a win. That's gonna happen in November.

If Koch Republicans bring a Medicare For All bill to a vote, no one here should be at all surprised to see them raid Social Security afterward, sooner or later, since present medicare is run alongside or under the aegis of Social Security.

Raiding Social Security means serious hurt for America's parents, grandparents and all the folks we know who've already paid into it -- which is all working Americans.

This isn't bullshit theater. By design this brings the wandering Republican voters home, and then make everyone their suckers.

Can we prevent these moves? We'll see.
