Trump's core support remains solid, but a significant minority of Republicans have soured

Source: L.A. Times

President Trump's backing from his core supporters has been famously solid — Trump himself once joked that he could shoot someone on New York’s Fifth Avenue without jeopardizing their votes.

But that steadfast backing coexists with a less positive fact for the president: Nearly one in five Trump voters from 2016 have soured on him since he took office, according to a new study by the nonpartisan Pew Research Center.

The numbers come from a survey Pew conducted of 3,014 voters who took part in a panel that was questioned three times during 2016 and then again in 2018. Each time, they were asked to rate their feelings about Trump on a 0-to-100 scale.

Because the same people were questioned each time, pollsters could track which individuals changed their minds about Trump.

3. That is the most striking thing he is it gaining but losing support

I suspect it will erode even more as the tariffs and job losses because of them start to affect some of his supporters. Even the economy starts going down. It will be hard for the propaganda chNnel to blame Obama and Hillary. The only negative is if we get the house they will blame the Democratic Party. So everyday the Democrats have to pass bills that could help regular working Americans and have the repuke controlled senate pass them and the orange maggot veto them.

4. he's actually astoundingly unpopular once you factor in 4% gdp growth & stock market all-time highs

just imaging how unpopular he'd be if we were in a recession.

well, if he doesn't get the boot, we may not have to "imagine" very hard....

9. Has there been much evidence to support they are actually compromising the voting machines?

I haven't seen much to suggest that's the case. I know there have been some attempts, but nothing I've seen says they had any great success. Isn't most of the Russian manipulations in spreading propaganda/lies in order to sway people to vote a certain way? If that assessment is accurate, then people turning against Trump makes it much harder for the to sway those same people to vote for him again. Although, I would think that just means they will focus on pushing other "preferred candidates"
