Dickey Betts' surgery a 'success' in Sarasota

Dickey Betts is recovering now close to home following brain surgery.
Dickey Betts and his family want everyone to know that his surgery was a success, said a statement sent to the Herald-Tribune by manager David Spero on Friday. The outpouring of support from all over the world has been overwhelming and amazing. We are so appreciative. Thank you all so much for your wonderful thoughts and prayers. We will keep you updated.
Earlier Friday, Spero explained details would follow and told the Herald-Tribune:

(18,628 posts)With my record collection quickly becoming a vinyl obituary column, I'll gladly accept this win for classic rock & roll. I hope he'll be able to go on with that tour in November. I believe it's with his very capable guitar playing son Duane.
In my case I think it was the heartfelt hope and deep concern that did the trick. LOL

The new Dickey Betts Band debuted in May with a local live rehearsal show at Sarasotas White Buffalo Saloon. The Dickey Betts Band has been touring the East Coast through the summer, earning positive reviews in publications such as Rolling Stone.
I just saw Duane Betts with the Devon Allman Project last month in Kent OH, and they were great.
