Lawyer Says FBI Interview With Mark Judge Ongoing

Source: Associated Press

37 mins. ago.

A lawyer for Mark Judge, a high school friend of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, says Judge has been interviewed by the FBI but his "interview has not been completed."

Attorney Barbara "Biz" Van Gelder issued the statement Monday.

Judge is one of multiple people the FBI has already interviewed as part of its reopened background investigation into Kavanaugh.

Christine Blasey Ford, a California college professor, has said Judge was in the room when a drunken Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her when they were teenagers in the early 1980s. Judge has denied the allegations, as has Kavanaugh.

Others who have spoken with the FBI include a Yale classmate who has said Kavanaugh exposed himself to her when they were students. - End of article.

then it all turns around.

If Judge wants to can he?

KGB, GOP, Koch, and many more very powerful people will either bribe or threaten him, i dont see how he can tell the truth.

Once you have your interviewee blow up at his interviewers, stand credibly accused by someone with nothing to gain of an attempted rape, and require long interviews by the FBI of people who know the guy... it's just sensible to move on to a different candidate.

There's a word that has no place in the minds of the GOP old skeevy white men on the committee.

Attorney's general will be coming for your despicable a$$ anyway. Might as well go down denying it all the way.

that it's ongoing because at this point Mark Judge wants an attorney there when he answers questions. This suggests that things are getting intereting. Wonder if the level of questioning will step up accordingly? 'Now that your lawyer is here, would you tell us about the last communication you had with Judge Kavanaugh, and what was said by both you and him?'

If Mark Judge takes the Fifth, then it will really get interesting. Ditto if Kavanaugh withdraws his nomination. But things might not end for him even then: a grievance has been filed against him with the DC Circuit Court of Appeals, and will eventually be ruled on – by Chief Judge of that Circuit, Merrick Garland – perhaps after all the other investigations are over. If I recall correctly, the grievance is based on Kavanaugh not telling the truth while under oath at his confirmation hearings.

Why would he take the 5th? This isn't a criminal investigation, he's not a defendant nor a witness in a criminal proceeding, so h's not entitled to the 5th.

Mark Judge can tell the FBI to go pound sand at any time he wants and there's absolutely nothing the FBI can do about it.

If you're referring to the so called stunt by the Democratic Coalition, don't get excited about it, they have no standing to file charges, they've pulled these stunts before, all it is is grandstanding and fundraising.

Democratic Coalition cannot file any criminal charges, only Federal/State/Local DA's can file criminal charges, they're full of shit.

.., outside of the technical meaning under the law. If he refuses to answer pertinent qustions for whatever reason, the public perception would be much the same.

He's had a lawyer since the beginning. His lawyer submitted signed letters to the judiciary committee that committed Judge to a specific position. He's clearly represented by counsel in this matter and has been from the beginning. It would be highly inappropriate for the FBI to talk to him without counsel present.

Any change to his public stance at this point will open him up to prosecution.

His lawyer's job is to do what's best for Mark Judge, not what's best for us, for the country, or for Brett Kavanaugh. The fact that the interview is taking so long means they're probably asking him about all this yearbook stuff.
