In unsealed divorce filings, Rep. Keith Ellison says ex-wife abused him
Source: Twin Cities Pioneer Press
Keith Ellisons divorce records unsealed Wednesday contain no allegations the Minnesota congressman physically abused his ex-wife, but he said in a 2015 filing that Kim Ellison repeatedly hit him throughout their 25-year marriage.
The Minneapolis Star Tribune and conservative news site Alpha News sued for access to the file, arguing its a matter of public interest after Ellisons ex-girlfriend accused him of once physically abusing her. Ellison, who is running for state attorney general and is deputy chairman of the Democratic National Committee, has denied it.
The Ellisons tried to block release of the file, with Kim Ellison arguing that it would expose personal and painful details about her depression and health, but the Minnesota Court of Appeals rejected that bid on Tuesday.
..(Keith Ellison said) Kim Ellison hit me too many times to mention during their marriage, once bit him on the arm and threatened to stab him.

Re: "Ellisons ex-girlfriend accused him of once physically abusing her"
Karen Monahan claims that she broke up with Keith Ellison on the evening of August 25, 2016, and the next morning he told her to move out while trying unsuccessfully to pull her out of bed by her feet. She says that was the only time he got physical with her.
He denies doing that. I wrote reasons to be skeptical of Karen Monahan's accusation:

If anyone in this country has a problem with "wemmin", it, by god, is Republicans. All their greed and hostility feed right into their intimate relationships every time.
All Democrats have to "prop us up" is the truth. We have to resort to historical evidence as so many greedy right-wingers go far overboard in trying to control their "loved ones."

They had to stoop to the dumbest, and silliest possible stunt, hoping stupid people would bite, and react, and that he had enough honor to step away instead of fighting in the gutter like them.
