Trump FEMA chief Brock Long calls it quits amid scandal: ‘It is time for me to go home’

President Donald Trump’s top disaster official reportedly said on Wednesday that he is quitting the job.

Federal Emergency Manager Agency administrator Brock Long said that it was time for him to “go home,” according to Bloomberg reporter Jennifer Jacobs.

“While this has been the opportunity of the lifetime, it is time for me to go home to my family – my beautiful wife and two incredible boys,” Long’s statement explained “Upon my departure, Mr. Peter Gaynor, will serve as Acting FEMA administrator.”

Long came under fire during his tenure at the agency after he was accused of improperly using government vehicles.

I'm getting out before someone realizes that the money already transferred from FEMA and the USCG went into a Cayman Islands account, under an alias that Director Nielsen made up!!!

(in case someone complains about raw story)

FEMA administrator William ‘Brock’ Long, who faced questions over his use of his government vehicle, is resigning

This is a developing story and it will be updated.

Federal Emergency Management Agency administrator Brock Long has resigned from his post, the department announced Wednesday. Peter Gaynor, who has served as Long’s deputy, will assume acting administrator duties in his place.

Long’s improper use of government resources cost taxpayers $94,000 in staff salary, $55,000 in travel expenses and $2,000 in vehicle maintenance, the Department of Homeland Security’s inspector general determined last year.

Long had served as the head of the agency for the past two years and will be temporarily replaced by Deputy Administrator Pete Gaynor, Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said.

“While this has been the opportunity of the lifetime, it is time for me to go home to my family – my beautiful wife and two incredible boys," Long said in a statement. “As a career emergency management professional, I could not be prouder to have worked alongside the devoted, hardworking men and women of FEMA for the past two years.”

I always wonder how their "beautiful wives and wonderful children" have gotten along with his attention until now.
And how long it will be before he starts his own lobbying group.
I think it took Zinke less than 90 days. Despite trumps announcement there would be no lobbying allowed by ex-henchmen.

She’s going to need a new board pretty soon, otherwise it will get too small to read.

If IQ45 does built a wall structure, we could paint the names and charges of everyone indicted, disposition, and on another section, list all of the corrupt flunkies like brock schlong.

They lost it in Hurricane Michael and still haven't seen one cent from FEMA. So you can't just go home (unless your home, too, is a small house full of holes made by trees that fell over on top of it).

The problem is his boss, Nielsen, wants to install her own into the FEMA position.

Therefore, some 'controversies' arose after Nielsen moved to Homeland Security.

Is it possible that this guy wasn't receptive to that or are the replacing him with someone more malleable?
