Mitt Romney caught up in billboard affair

Source: Boston Herald

A Southie billboard advertising a website for adulterers, which slammed White House wannabe Mitt Romney over his tax returns, disappeared less than 24 hours after it went up after the media company got complaints from fans of the ex-gov.

“It didn’t even survive 24 hours,” AshleyMadison.com founder Noel Biderman told the Track. “This doesn’t feel like America to me. It’s like something that would happen in some Central American dictatorship.”

OK, so here’s the deal: Biderman rented a billboard in Southie to advertise his website, which promises to hook up people who are in relationships but looking for some side action.

The billboard features a pic of the ex-Mass. governor with his fingers to his lips in a “Shhhh” pose. The caption read: “If cheating on your taxes is OK ... so is AshleyMadison.com.”

Try having a billboard filled with lies like Obama gets. This asshole can't even take this kind of criticism. The truth right there in front of him, and he forces someone's free speech to be quashed. These freedom loving assholes need to learn what freedom means.

When we have billboards in our area PLASTERED in all sort of graffti...it just stays up no matter how many complaints.

Money talks and, well, I see what walks and it's picture is on the billboard.

And these guys already have a customer base, to afford that billboard. Maybe Bain (Clear Channel) owns the billboard?

is.

Anyway it took 2 people to post five, the majority of which aren't specifically geared towards cheating. the rest were only maybes because i don't feel like trying to figure out what they're about.

My point remains. Ashleymadison.com is specifically marketed as a "cheating" website and it's not really worthy of accolades no matter what provacotive ads they might place.

But that billboard demonstrates really awfully bad taste. It's pretty disgusting.

It's OK. It's intended as a joke, but please, must we always have attacks that are based on innuendo about politicians' sex lives or lack thereof.

Just drop this subject. Anyone can ridicule anyone in this fashion. The billboard shows really stupid judgment.

Sorry. But that is my opinion.

He may have avoided them fair and square under current rigged for the rich tax laws. So the premise of the billboard has not been proven yet. Having said that, too fucking bad Romney. You are running for President and some mud always gets thrown, especially when you leave yourself wide open for it by refusing to divulge your tax returns.

The same concern I would have if some company used President Obama's image to sell cornflakes or anything else without his consent.

And, in any event, its likely that the use of Romney's image in a commercial ad without his consent was unlawful (a violation of the right of publicity), just as using President Obama's image, or mine, or yours, would be.
