Pompeo suggests God sent Trump to save Israel

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo suggested in a televised interview Thursday that God may have sent President Donald Trump to Earth to protect Israel.

Pompeo made the remarks in an interview with Christian Broadcasting Network, or CBN, in Jerusalem, where he visited the Western Wall with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

When the interview turned to Iranian aggression in the Middle East, Pompeo was asked whether he thought "President Trump right now has been sort of raised for such a time as this, just like Queen Esther, to help save the Jewish people from the Iranian menace."

"As a Christian, I certainly believe that's possible," Pompeo responded.

This whole Presidency has been so bizarre in so many ways.

Foreign policy by tweet is dangerous and cowardly. The blowback will be lasting and will come when Trump is on his way out. It's all about Trump painting Democrats as haters of Jews and securing as much money from the hard-line supporters of Israel in the US Congress and among the US voters.

It is ironic that the President who is supported by and who seeminly supports the racist Neo-Nazis who were chanting in the streets of Charlottesvill while carrying torches "Jews will not replace us." The President who stokes anti-Semitism among his base tweets to set the ME on fire by pledging Israeli sovereignty over all their occupied territories.

What are we headed for? How many innocent lives at stake? Two corrupt con men taking the world to the brink.

for their political lives. The irony is that these Congressmen (Rubio aside) with Lindsey Graham represent some of the most anti-Semitic people in the country.

Last month, US Senators Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, Tom Cotton and Congressman Mike Gallagher introduced legislation in the House of Representatives and the Senate to recognise Israel's sovereignty over the occupied Golan Heights.
