JEFFERSON CITY, MO (AP) Missouri House lawmakers have passed legislation to allow public schools to offer elective social studies classes on the Bible.
The Republican-led House voted 95-52 to pass the bill Monday.

(4,158 posts)I know it's against the law to proselytize, but teaching the bible as literature has been legal for a long time. . .
Of course, given the fools who passed this legislation, SURELY they will want some kind of evangelical, hate-filled bent to the whole thing.

(6,560 posts)On Wednesdays, we were given the last hour of the school day where we could go to our church(es) for religious instruction. Attendance at the church was documented and sent to the school to prove we were where we were suppose to be. I don't think this is done anymore.
