Natalee Holloway suspect Joran van der Sloot admits killing woman in Peru

LIMA — Joran van der Sloot pleaded guilty to murder Wednesday in the killing of a 21-year-old Peruvian woman.

The plea came nearly seven years after he became the prime suspect in the unsolved disappearance of an American teenager on holiday in Aruba.

Van der Sloot, who was arrested but not charged in the 2005 disappearance of 19-year-old Natalee Holloway on the Dutch Caribbean island of Aruba, admitted killing 21-year-old Stephany Flores in his Lima hotel room on May 30, 2010, after the two left a casino together in the day's wee hours.

The slaying happened five years to the day after Holloway's disappearance, an Alabama woman who was celebrating her high school graduation in Aruba and was seen leaving a nightclub with van der Sloot. Her body has never been found.

It's up to their equivalent of a Parole Board. Also, he will be immediately extradited to the us to be tried on FEDERAL extortion charges, for extorting John Ramsey and Holloway's mother.

about the length of the sentence to be imposed. He'll be serving time in a Peruvian max prison, not a very congenial environment for a foreigner. If we add to that the fact that he killed the daughter of a one-time Vice President of Peru, the possibility of some type of extralegal retribution doesn't seem to be out of the question...

It reminds me of another serial killer, and his pace-maker ticking Emperor Palpatine, that will never be brought to justice for their crimes. Wait. Could that perhaps be more in the realm of genocidal killers?

his killing Stephany Flores was the result of all the psychological trauma he’d endured from being accused of Natalee Holloway’s murder.

I hope he suffers greatly in prison, and that when he’s released, he goes on trial for Natalee Holloway’s murder.
