Moulton enters 2020 White House race
Source: The Hill
Rep. Seth Moulton (D-Mass.) announced his 2020 presidential campaign early Monday.
Moulton, who emerged a leader of the Democrats challenging Nancy Pelosi's (D-Calif.) path to the Speakership last fall, said in a video that he is running because "we have to beat Donald Trump, and I want us to beat Donald Trump because I love this country."
According to his campaign website, the three-term congressman will travel to the early nominating states of New Hampshire, South Carolina and Iowa this week.
Moulton, 40, has said for months that he was considering a 2020 run.

(15,286 posts)Maybe he and Tim Ryan can debate each other as I'm not sure either will meet the criteria to get on stage with the other candidates.
More seriously, with far better known candidates like Klobuchar, Booker, Castro and even Warren and O'Rourke failing to catch fire, neither Moulton nor Ryan have a snowball's chance in summer.

(2,748 posts)Trump was at 5% in the Republican primary polls.
That said, Ive heard his name, but I dont know a thing about Moulton (or Ryan). Of course, 2months ago most of us had never heard of Mayor Pete.
Its very early, and yesterday I switched back to undecided.

(32,974 posts)I'm pretty sure Ohio will lose a CD seat, which is very likely to be Tim Ryans. I suspect he is 'running for POTUS' so he can get a think tank/TV job after 2020
So my ? - is it expected Massachusetts lose a CD? Is Moulton popular enough that the CD drawers keep his district safe Will he be primaried?
Thanks

This was an account transfer. Seth has no intention of giving up his House seat. Should he not win the Democratic nomination for president, he will still be a candidate for MA-06. https://t.co/Xa1pjaMkW5

(2,769 posts)MA Dems weren't too happy when he decided to oppose Pelosi's bid for Speaker (without putting up another candidate).
