Group aims for petition drive over anti-discrimination ordinances

An attempt to repeal Omaha's legal protections for its gay and transgender residents is under way.

Opponents to March's amendments of local anti-discrimination ordinances have applied to launch a petition drive to bring the matter to a public vote during next year's city elections.

The group behind the petition calls itself the Omaha Liberty Project.
