Navy confirms request to keep USS John S. McCain out of sight during President Trump's visit

WASHINGTON – The U.S, Navy acknowledged Saturday it had received a request to shield a U.S. warship bearing the name of former political rival John McCain from President Donald Trump's view during the commander-in-chief's visit to Japan last week – but did not comply.
“A request was made to the U.S. Navy to minimize the visibility of USS John S. McCain, however, all ships remained in their normal configuration during the President’s visit," according to a statement from Rear Adm. Charlie Brown, Chief of Navy Information, that the Pentagon released.
The one-paragraph statement did not mention who made the request and a Pentagon spokesperson did not respond to a request for further information.
In his statement, Brown also said there were "no intentional efforts" to exclude sailors on the McCain from attending the president's address on Memorial day aboard the USS Wasp at Yokosuka Naval Base, south of Tokyo. The McCain is docked there for repairs.

The dictionary has replaced the definition for "uncouth" -- a person who, by their appearance or behavior, shows themself to be lacking good manners, refinement, or grace -- with a picture of Trump.
We have "dotard" courtesy of his bestie Kim Jong Un. Uncouth, as you pointed out, also definitely applies to him. I'm fond of referring to him as a boor, personally. He most certainly qualifies as an oaf, as well as a lout. He's also quite churlish, in addition to being a cretin.
My Canadian wife is fond of calling him a numpty. I have a British friend who calls him a pillock, as well as a bell-end, a prat, a tosser, and a wanker. My Australian friend calls him something that'd probably get me in deep trouble, were I to actually post it here...

All the pain bc Pres Obama kidded him about the birth certificate nonsense? As if don turned out to be correct in that. He's an awful awful individual, and he brings the stature of America, and Americans down exponentially world wide. Trillions of dollars in foreign aid earned by the American Worker, and given out over generations. Wars fought to shield countries that couldn't defend themselves from evil. Horrible combat deaths by the hundreds of thousands. Deaths by sad soldiers and sailors and Marines and airmen when they get home bc of their broken-ness from war. And this asshole acts like the goodwill of America is his own earned cache, to spnd, or destroy. His evil and personal faults are so deep. And yet it goes on.
We here on DU go back and forth, back and forth, trying to figure out ways to save this country. Getting nasty w each other over it even, everyday here. Trying to fix what that asshole and the gop have done to us willfully and w relish. He's given the ugliest in our culture license to lash out, usually to take the spotlight away from himself on any given day.
