Romney receives first intelligence briefing

Source: ap

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney has received his first regular intelligence briefing from the Obama administration during a stop in Los Angeles.

Romney spokesman Rick Gorka says the former Massachusetts governor met Monday with members of the intelligence community at a federal building. Romney's briefing lasted 2 hours.

The meetings are customary for major-party candidates after their nominating conventions and require a security clearance.

The lack of intelligence briefings drew attention last week when Romney struggled to respond to a violent clash in Libya that left four Americans dead, including an ambassador. Before the deaths were confirmed, Romney mischaracterized the incident in his initial statement and accused President Barack Obama of a "disgraceful" handling of violence.

that'll be a hoot, if he just started spouting shit off in the debate like he knew something, and then got his ass handed to him.
Then again, that'll probably happen regardless.

Romney's remarks, as always, are not due to a lack of intelligence briefings, but rather to a lack of intelligence, period.

an imprudent remark, as romney is known to make, about... say ... Israel/Iran could start a shooting war ... followed by nukes flying to the East and maybe exploding in the west.

This is not a good thing.

Surely there is time for this between the first Tuesday in November and January 20th. Why is this the tradition? If ever there was a case against it, Romney is it!

At first I thought he was bland. Then he was a flip flopper. Then an ass. Then a lying shit. But NOW he is all of those things AND a wild-eyed craven opportunist! Do not brief this psycho!!!

Can't exactly compare notes with McCain since it does deal with intelligence. And at this point, McCain probably isn't too keen on helping Romney.

since it is a long standing tradition to not give the briefs is to merely ignite a political firestorm that diverts attention from Romney. Romney is killing his own candidacy - why get in his way?

Trusting anyone whose highest allegiance is not the United States of America but a mythical fantasy Mormon world, and a world order that wants to reinterpret the constitution and rid the nation of anyone who does not fit their interpretation of wealth and labor... is dangerous and foolhardy.

He cannot be trusted... period.
