Hard-won budget, debt deal clears Senate, advances to Trump

Source: Associated Press

WASHINGTON (AP) — A hard-won budget and debt deal easily cleared the Senate on Thursday, powered by President Donald Trump’s endorsement and a bipartisan drive to cement recent spending increases for the Pentagon and domestic agencies.

The legislation passed by a 67-28 vote as Trump and his GOP allies relied on lots of Democratic votes to propel it over the finish line.

Passage marked a drama-free solution to a worrisome set of looming Washington deadlines as both allies and adversaries of the president set aside ideology in exchange for relative fiscal peace and stability. The measure, which Trump has promised to sign, would permit the government to resume borrowing to pay all its bills and would set an overall $1.37 trillion limit on agency budgets approved by Congress annually.

It does nothing to stem the government’s spiraling debt and the return of $1 trillion-plus deficits but it also takes away the prospect of a government shutdown in October or the threat of deep automatic spending cuts .

And watch if we do win the economy will tank & there won't be a tool left to work with in order to help folks because the wealthy needed their tax cuts & cheaper money to offset Trump's childish tariffs!

...Its always like this! ALWAYS!!!! Democrats have to make adult decisions that upset voters to clean up GOP mistakes then they vote the GOP back in to make the same fucking mess they made the last 3 fucking times they were in office!

EDIT: Sorry for the foul language. I see it coming & it is aggravating. Worse case scenario we get blamed for the economic downturn.

"The legislation passed by a 67-28 vote as Trump and his GOP allies relied on lots of Democratic votes to propel it over the finish line."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, those Retrumplican Senators that we absolutely need to defeat in 2020 to stop and reverse this shitstain, can run and use ads saying shit like; "I voted against this budget deal that blows up the debt, but my 'Democrat' colleagues just couldn't resist their radical tax and spend policies"

Perhaps the worst thing is that Dems got nothing for their vote.

- did we get Donnie Shit for Brains tax returns?

- did we get witnesses cooperating with investigations?

- did we get 60 votes back to being required for federal judgeships?

- did we at least get the respect of senators blue slips for federal judgeships?

Fuck no, we didn't! It appears, we didn't even ask

And here's something else. Donnie Shit for Brains needed this deal desperately. Barack Obama's economy is the only thing that is keeping him above 10% approval.

Do you really think those Retrumplicans that voted against it would have bucked Donnie Shit for Brains by not voting for something he desperately needs?

There was no reason for so many Dems to vote for this.

If you still wanted it to pass, you go to Moscow Mitch and you tell him: You will get not one Democratic vote for this until EVERY SINGLE Retrumplican Senator votes for it.. Then, we will give you the votes one-by-one to get to 60, but for each one of those votes we want something in return.

- we want a vote on the election security bill

-we want restoration of the home state Senators blue slip authority.

- we want 60 votes required for any cabinet appointee or federal judgeship.

If not, we go to the mattresses and you, Moscow Mitch can go tell Donnie Shit for Brains..."No Deal"

Why is the defense budget so DAMN HIGH?? The damn defense budget should be cut to 40% and this country should be out of the WAR business. The DAMN republicans want this country to be the WORLD COP so they can screw the world. The stop republicans bitched about a balanced budget but they are quiet when their clowns are in charge. If their are any republicans left they should vote out their clowns before this country exploded from republican debt..........
