NRA discussed purchasing luxury mansion for its chief executive to use, documents show

Source: Washington Post

Documents indicate that the National Rifle Association planned to purchase a luxury mansion in the Dallas area last year for the use of chief executive Wayne LaPierre, according to two people familiar with the records.

The discussions about the roughly $6 million purchase, which was not completed, are now under scrutiny by New York investigators. The transaction was slated to be made through a corporate entity that received a wire of tens of thousands of dollars from the NRA in 2018, according to the people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the ongoing investigation.

The New York attorney general’s office is now examining the plan for an NRA-financed mansion as part of its ongoing investigation into the gun lobby’s tax-exempt status, in which it has subpoenaed the group’s financial records, the people said.

They are little different than the religious charlatans who have been robbing the gullible blind since time began. In stead of ripping things out of context from the bible, its the Second Amendment to the Constitution they are misrepresenting.

homes just like the family pictured, lot's of other Northern poverty areas too.

My point was the poor saps living in homes like that being just fine with - and paying dues to - the fat cats at the top of the NRA organization to live in mansions.

Look at how Epstein lived. Then look at how you live.

Now tell me how equitable capitalism in the USA is vs Venezuela.

But we can all pretend that capitalism is the best ever.

Where, like the NRA, the leaders are doing just FINE? Living in the US is infinitely better than Venezuela.
if you judge the quality of your life by how others have more than you, then thats a sad way to live. And thats the problem today. Too many people worry too much about what OTHERS have instead of what THEY have. Its the Kardashianism of America. Thats why they're in their 17th year; envy.
Epstein scammed other rich people, not me.

Except for the scamming?

It is in human nature to compare your situation to others. As greed is in human nature. But the filthy rich are all in favor of greed.

It is Not envy like the filthy rich capitalist kings try to convince everyone it is. It is Equality. Everyone doing well. Not a handful of greedy perverts like Epatein, Trump and Putin having their merest snivel catered to like it was gold. While children starve.

That is how capitalism rolls. All for one and nothing for most. That is capitalism.

Traitor Trump and his Slovenian sex worker are the embodiment of capitalism. Look at them with their sexism, racism ugliness and stupidity. They are the pinnacle of capitalism. They and pedophile Epstein are what capitalism has in store for us if we play the game and win.

Traitor Trump, and his Slovenian sex worker, pedophile Epstein and murderer and mobster Putin are the winners of capitalism. Do we really want an economic system where we strive to be like them?

Sure, I'd LOVE to have a higher net worth. But I'm enjoying my life knowing what my limits are. Plan for the future but live for today. We're not promised tomorrow. Why waste your time being pissed off at what others have? Its a sad way to live.
And i stand by my opinion of envy being the biggest problem. There will NEVER be true equality anywhere, unless you look at places where EVERYONE is miserable. Envy has become such a big problem because of how easily people can see how people richer than them are living. EVERY "real housewife of X" show or any other "reality" show following a person or family, always shows them living the high life. Drivers, private planes, eating out & shopping all the time. So people see it and they think they too should have it. As recently as the 70s & 80s this wasnt that big a deal. You knew some folks had more, but you also knew many had less. And yeah, I blame the Kardashians. They made envy a billion dollar business.

Capitalism is by no means perfect, but its better than the alternatives. And it always will be. Life isnt fair to everyone. Never has been, never will be.

They are the winners of capitalism. They are at the top of the capitalist heap. They represent capitalism. Even your Kardashian whose father helped get OJ off and passed millions in capital to his children, are the winners.

Envy has absolutely nothing to do with it. It's what the rich winners in capitalism want you to think. It is propaganda, it is a lie. I no more envy the capitalist winners than I envy the losers. I am doing just fine but I did it despite the soul sucking horrors of capitalism not because of it.

If capitalism is just so wonderful explain how Trump came into being. Explain why Epstein was free to prey on our children for so long. Explain why we need so many laws to regulate it and control it. Explain why there are so many more losers of capitalism than there are winners. Why are people and children starving and not getting medical care? Why are there homeless when we have so many vacant homes? Why do we have cars sitting in dealers lots when people still need transportation? Why is our earth burning up from the use of fossil fuels yet there isn't a booming business in renewables? Why do we have such a huge population of imprisoned citizens?

A blind allegiance to a failed economic system is more about a religion and worship. I refuse to worship capitalism like the filthy rich want.

I dont give a shit about any of them. Any system you want instead of what we have will also have its own laws. I dont know what you think would give us a system where there arent winners & losers. Its a fantasy. Tell me; what woul be SO much better?
And no, there are NOT more losers than winners in our system. Unless "winning" to you means you HAVE to be worth millions. If thats the case, you'll be pissed off no matter WHERE you live.
I certainly hope the eventual nominee doesnt talk like that or we're in deep shit come election time!!

Hey, assholes, I need a more secure place to live thanks to the work of your coin-operated politicians! You gonna buy me a six million dollar mansion? I'm guessing that's a "no"....
