Poll: Obama posts significant leads in Iowa, Wisc., Colorado

Source: the hill

New swing-state polls show President Obama holding significant leads in Iowa, Wisconsin, and Colorado, with the president garnering 50 percent of voters surveyed in each of the contests.

In Iowa, the president holds an eight-point lead over Mitt Romney, who pulled 42 percent of respondents. In both Wisconsin and Colorado, the president held a 50-45 percent lead over his Republican challenger. The surveys were conducted by NBC News and the Wall Street Journal.

President Obama's lead in Colorado - where other recent polls had shown a much narrower Democratic advantage — was partially thanks to a dominating 73 percent of Hispanics favoring the president.

The Democratic ticket also got good news in the Midwest, where Republicans were seen making gains in Wisconsin and Iowa. Wisconsin is of particular worry for Democrats, where Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan is expected to make the contest tight. Ryan maintains a 49-40 percent favorability rating, and Romney leads Obama in Ryan's congressional district. Obama handily won that district in 2008.

I think the GOPers had high hopes for all three of these. Clearly they are running out of winning scenarios.
