Puppies may be making people sick, CDC says
Source: CNN
By Christina Maxouris,
Puppies: cute balls of fur.
But according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, they're also linked to a multi-state outbreak of an infection that's resistant to multiple drugs.
An outbreak strain of Campylobacter jejuni has been reported in 13 states and so far 30 people have been infected, the CDC said.
Four have been hospitalized but no deaths have been reported, the center said.

Two tier education. Two tier healthcare (with 'skinny' insurance plans like what the GOP tried to pass). Two tier packages for the sale of 737 Max jets (apparently staying in the air is a luxury when updating software for jets).

How they plan to 'capture' rich liberals into their voting block: by making everything middle class awful and make it a matter of life or death which side of the divide you are on. In canada Trudeau started a Ministry of Middle Class Prosperity in his government and Conservatives started howling. Who does that?

(34,136 posts)The sources of the puppies and the conditions under which they are bred and raised need to be investigated. Considering how disgusting the situation animals are kept in at puppy (and kitten) mills, I would not be surprised if they are the source and where the drug resistant strains were created.
Maybe THIS will lead to the shut down of puppy mills since the level of cruelty in them has not.

(2,598 posts)Since the 1980's, I've been following the work of Pierre Beland, who is a toxicologist who studies the belugas in the St. Lawrence River.
He noted that they were suffering from diseases many of which were never reported in other marine mammals, and many that were normally present in their environment, but infection was NOT fatal NORMALLY.
The reason was that their chemical exposure caused them to have compromised immune systems.
So sadly I think that is where we are. I have read that many scientists are calling our chemical exposures "the largest uncontrolled experiment on humans in history".
Thanks republicans.
Oh, and sorry for the big downer news in an article about puppies. Just enjoy them. Remember shelter pets need your love.

. . . Hey! I can be paranoid, too, you know. It's not just a "presidential privilege".
