Trump's spiritual adviser responds to backlash after abortion sermon goes viral
Source: The Hill
Televangelist Paula White, who also serves as President Trump's spiritual adviser, took to Twitter to clarify remarks she made in a sermon calling for all satanic pregnancies to miscarry after a portion of her address went viral and sparked backlash.
I don't normally respond but clearly this has been taken out of context. I was praying Eph 6:12 that we wrestle not against flesh and blood, she tweeted on Sunday. Anything that has been conceived by demonic plans, for it to be cancelled and not prevail in your life, that is- any plans to hurt people.
In a follow-up tweet, White also accused some critics of taking her remarks "out of context for political gain."
Let's be clear what is really going on... this is a disingenuous attempt to use words out of context for political gain. I will just keep praying! she added.

(21,957 posts)Yes, I said we should pray for all satanic pregnancies to miscarry, but my comment was disingenuously taken out of context. If you read my full remarks youll see that in fact I was trying to say that we should pray for all satanic pregnancies to miscarry.
"And while praying for these miscarriages I'll pray for you as well, but my praying is really just a meaningless statement to show the ignorant masses that I'm more religious than you are"

(2,148 posts)Then do us all a favor, and do what Jesus tells you to do when praying (The preface to the Lord's Prayer in Matthew)
5 "And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him."

(9,426 posts)Obviously trying to advise the orange ass is NOT working. He knows everything, takes advice from nobody. I had a miscarriage and it was far from a "satanic pregnancy" One of the worst experiences a woman can endure. Even the doctor telling me that a miscarriage is God's way of ending a pregnancy that did not begin right, and if he had managed to save the baby I might have had a mentally or physically handicapped baby, did not make me feel better. I felt "less than" a woman, could not see a pregnant woman without feeling the loss of my own baby. I went on to have two healthy babies, but the loss of that one still hurts. How DARE she call any pregnancy a satanic pregnancy. BITCH.

(111,298 posts)and well made up, just his style, she'd fit right into Pox and Friends.
Everything around Charismatic Christians that isn't them is expressed as either Satanic or demonic. It's how they talk about anything they either don't understand or don't like, often the same thing.
I love how she's trying to walk it all back today. It's pretty funny stuff.

Yeah, you keep right on praying, Paula. Like the strange disgusting old saying goes, "pray in one hand and shit in the other and see which one fills up first."

(4,466 posts)Words have meaning. We understand the words you used, so now you are claiming they were taken out of context. No, theye were not. You are a monster who worships a monstrous figment of your imagination.

If that is what she meant... how about USE THOSE WORDS, not "abort satanic pregnancies"...

Remember how we used to think that Condoleezza Rice was hired to keep George W. from straying while in office? There are photos of W looking at her with great amour in his eyes.

There's an entire fucking cottage industry of "taking the Bible out of context".
Since the first stain was put to papyrus, millions of people have taken it out of context.

(110 posts)I call BS. Ephesians 6:12 talks about wrestling not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness in this world, against wickedness in high places.
Not a mention of miscarriage or pregnancy. Sounds more like 45 and his cabal. They said there would be many false prophets. And we see a LOT these days. Using God to further their evil agenda.

(1,639 posts). . .when standing in opposition against something. The expression, "pregnancies to miscarry" has a painfully specific meaning to many people.
Using it was a gratuitous appeal to strong--not necessarily reasoning--emotion.
Oh, and I, too, would like to offer up a prayer against "any plans to hurt people". This prayer includes the request to deter any policies that enrich a small portion of the population at the expense of our beautiful planet and the health and happiness of most of the people on said planet.
Hmm. . . "deter" definitely does not carry enough emotional impact. How about "obliterate"? Of course, a quick read of such a sentence might cause some to think that I mean the literal obliteration of rich people, so I think that I will stay away from that. Why cause trouble where none is needed?
