(50,950 posts)There are the hard core base that will vote for him no matter what. Trump won last time because he had a base and then there were others that voted for him. Those others won't all vote for him again. And some of both groups will be dead and can't vote.

(348 posts)Trump will claim credit for saving companies and sending Americans checks when needed. He'll say he alone saved America. However, when the high deficit and debt are pointed out, he will point to the Democratic controlled House and say it's all their fault the debt and deficit has ballooned out of control. Reelect him AND give him a GOP Congress in both houses and the deficit will drop. And, of course, his mouth breathing followers will repeat it ad nauseam.

(35 posts)SSI recipients that normally don't file taxes:
You should, to be on the safe side and make sure you get a stimulus payment, file for this year. The language of the bill makes it sound like if you don't file and don't receive SSA-1099 or RRB-1099 (which are not given to SSI beneficiaries) you won't get a payment.
You can eFile for free through various services, I used the e-File service. Note: You can't eFile a tax return claiming no income (and you should not claim your SSI money as income - IRS doesn't count that) so what you should do to get around that is put in that you earned $1 in bank interest and it'll go through. Apparently that is a common practice for those with no reportable income who file.
The service I used seemed to blank out the direct deposit section, so make sure you accurately and completely fill in your mailing address (so if you use a PO Box and don't get mail sent to your actual residence, use the PO Box on the form) so that the physical check gets mailed to the right place.
Filing for state taxes is not important as the stimulus is disbursed federally. A lot of the eFile services charge money to file a state return, so just decline and skip that and do the federal one which is free.
