Wisconsin -- Karl Rove’s political action committee Crossroads GPS has poured another $1.2 million into ads attacking Democrat Tammy Baldwin in Wisconsin’s U.S. Senate race. The money dump comes just days after Thompson proclaimed to be the one to “do away” with Medicaid and Medicare to a group of Tea Party extremists.

The spending by Rove’s group comes on top of $961,000 it spent last week. It had previously spent $500,000 on anti-Baldwin ads, both coming after Thompson refused to release his tax returns and a homophobic email sent out by one of his senior advisors, Brian Nemoir.
