Trump Turns on Fauci as Disaster Grows out of Aggressive State Openings.

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by Omaha Steve (a host of the Latest Breaking News forum).

Source: CNN:

(CNN) -- Instead of focusing on the out-of-control coronavirus disaster in Florida and other early opening states, the White House is trying to destroy the reputation of one of America's most respected public servants, Dr. Anthony Fauci, for telling the truth about how bad things are getting.

President Donald Trump is meanwhile highlighting claims that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, doctors, media and the Democrats are lying about the country's pandemic -- the world's worst -- in order to crush the economy on which he is relying for reelection.

The new campaign of deception is accelerating a day after Florida recorded the highest-ever single daily caseload of new infections for any US state and as the daily total of confirmed cases nationwide hits a staggering 60,000. The surge is raging across southern and Western heartlands, also including Texas, Georgia and Arizona which tried to get back to normal before the curve of infections was suppressed. The resulting torrent of new cases is exposing Trump's call for early openings, embraced by many Republican governors in defiance of CDC guidelines, as one of the worst political and economic decisions in modern history.

But the White House is not learning from its past mistakes as it steps up an aggressive push to get schools fully operational within weeks, after Education Secretary Betsy DeVos failed repeatedly to outline a plan to do so safely in a CNN interview Sunday.

..I don't think that will work. Donald Trump thinks he knows it all, and with this, shows he knows nothing at all...another thought.....

"Donald Trump is as much a disaster as is the virus." (and he is proving that now to everyone)

"While an epidemic raged out of control, killing thousands, Trump's big plan was to try to destroy the reputation of the nation's leading epidemiologist, a man whose advice could have saved many had Trump only been willing to take it. Instead he denied the truth and Americans paid for it with their lives."

distract. As long as trump believes he bears no responsibility on the current continued rising number of victims of the first surge of this virus in America, a malignant narcissist can't take responsibility for much of anything, Dr Fauci is a convenient scapegoat.

Trump will just continue to cycle through scapegoats like he always has whether it is BLM protesters, the Chinese, the WHO, the media, Dr. Fauci, etc., to try to take attention away from his own failures.

Should be repeated over and over and over and over... Sometimes followed by a gavel at hearing after hearing prior to sentencing.

How about in all of history. Undoubtedly, since wearing garlic and burning witches was practiced as curative for the black plague.

It's not like the decision was made without being incessantly warned by every available expert.

Criminal, absolutely, CRIMINAL! MURDERERS! With the entire Republican apparatus as willing accomplices. <-- Does not even begin to demonstrate the disgust.

After all, he's always the victim.
Poor Donnie, the deep state is orchestrating a huge nationwide effort, encompassing hundreds of agencies across 50 states and the federal government, and 10's of thousands of health care professionals just to make Trump look bad.

It couldn't possibly be his fault.
