New Poll Puts Biden Up Over Trump in Ohio, Coronavirus and the Economy Are Top Issues
Source: WKSU News
A new poll that shows President Donald Trump trailing former Vice President Joe Biden in Ohio also reveals that Mr. Bidens strong supporters here outnumber Mr. Trumps, a snapshot of the state less than 100 days from an election that will determine whether Ohio continues its unmatched swing-state streak.
The poll also revealed the issues motivating each candidates backers: Mr. Bidens identified coronavirus as their top concern, while Mr. Trumps said it was the economy in a year defined by a global pandemic, economic uncertainty, and a reckoning over racial justice.
Conducted online between June 24 and July 15, the survey of 1,037 registered voters showed Mr. Biden leading Mr. Trump 46 to 42 percent, a result just outside the margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.
The poll was commissioned for Your Voice Ohios Election 2020 project, which explores the complexity of the states nearly 12 million residents through community engagement, data analysis, and collaborative reporting. It was conducted jointly by the Center for Marketing and Opinion Research in Akron and the Ray C. Bliss Institute of Applied Politics at the University of Akron.

(14,853 posts)I've lived here my whole life, and I've definitely seen more idiots since the 80's when Limbaugh and the other liars were regularly broadcast over the airwaves, but there's still several sensible people in Ohio.
Edut: Not to mention the liars at church pulpits, apparently endorsing Republicans ever since Jimmy Carter proposed taxing religious institutions.

(2,217 posts)World Harvest church that everyone calls Parsleyville and Fairfield Christian. Both were involved with the Kenneth Blackwell scandal several years ago where 30 some pastors filed a complaint with the IRS that Parsley and Russell were using their churches to campaign to elect Blackwell. They are both disgusting white wing fundies. I remember Rod Parsley from way back in the day when he spoke in a regular way then as he started to scam more people and amassed money and a huge house and a gargantuan church campus he started using the serious preacher voice all of the time.

(14,853 posts)I remember his connection to the Diebold voting machines and having provisional ballots not counted in 2004, so he probably played a role in Bush getting re-selected that year.
I looked up the church story. That stuff happens more than publicized.
Noticed that those church leaders argued that they had 1st Amendment rights to endorse politicians, but the reply was that the Constitution doesn't exclude churches from being taxed either. That's a benefit for them as SUPPOSEDLY not-for-profit groups that don't endorse or campaign for politicians.
