DNC Chair Perez on Trump's in-person campaign events: 'Ask the family of Herman Cain'
Source: Politico
Democratic National Committee Chair Tom Perez on Tuesday criticized President Donald Trumps decision to continue organizing in-person campaign events by invoking the death of businessman Herman Cain who contracted Covid-19 after attending a Trump rally in Tulsa, Okla.
The remarks from the Democratic party chief came in an interview with POLITICO Playbook, after he and Democratic National Convention CEO Joe Solmonese were asked about the presidents campaign stops Monday in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Solmonese said the presidents upcoming campaign schedule and the largely virtual Democratic convention were indicative of the way that each party has responded to this pandemic.
Solmonese also accused Trump of pulling a political stunt and causing crowds to gather amid a highly infectious outbreak. Were going to continue to have a thoughtful and impactful conversation with the American people, he said.

(114 posts)For all the critics out there talking about the virtual Democratic Convention and not crowds of people, he said ask Herman Caine's family about that. He was only stating a possibility because they don't know if he contracted the virus at the rally but they also don't know he didn't!!!
