Ohio lawmaker drafts articles of impeachment against Gov. DeWine over COVID-19 response

Source: WLWT-NBC Affiliate

An Ohio representative from Clermont County announced Monday he has drafted articles of impeachment against Gov. Mike DeWine for his response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Rep. John Becker (R-Union Township, Clermont County) said he has drafted ten articles of impeachment against DeWine, citing the governor's actions, like implementing a statewide mask mandate, as "abuses of power."

The announcement comes after Becker said DeWine vetoed Senate Bill 55 and threatened to veto Senate Bill 618 and Senate 1 which would limit the governor and other state officials' authority during the pandemic.

If a Republican is going to govern Ohio, I’d prefer it be him.

As I said, if a Republican is governing Ohio, I’d prefer it be him. Not who his replacement will be if the impeachment is successful.

If you live here, you already know the only thing they have done quickly was put in their last raise in Dec18.

This is more a warning shot at his reelection efforts in 2023.

They Koch Brothered the fuck out of Ohio, and with their miniscule 0.05% win, they gerrymandered the fuck out of Ohio to the point that Retrumplicans could get 47% of the state's vote and win 86% of its representation.

Dewine had a fucking First Class seat and a hand in all of that.

It's like saying Jeffrey Dahmer was a decent neighbor because he only ate out of towners.

Right now...every Retrumplican must be treated like they are the dog shit stuck in the grooves of your shoes.

They must be scrubbed out.

We can try to find decent Retrumplicans after the entire current group is washed out.

Instead of our current 4.1% infection rate, we could be like them with a rate close to 40%.

I have heard, that "Republicans eat their own" from Republicans. I did not know what they meant. To-day, i read three Republicans in the Ohio House have written articles of impeachment against DeWine. The article called them "conservative Republicans". DeWine is a conservative Republican. All the other Republicans in the State House are "conservatives". Why is the term "ultra-conservative" not used? After all, if any Republican does not go along with the party line, he is attacked.

I saw this in 2004 when gwbjr was criticised. Republicans said these people were not conservative. After 2006, when everyone acknowledged that gwbjr was a failure, Republicans said he was not a true "conservative". How disgustingly crazy does one have to be, to be considered "conservative" enough?

It seems like Fox News sets their current policy, and any minor deviants will quickly get that label.

Edit: Then they finally got their dream candidate -- the Fox News watching Trump. (Who pretty much repeated what he saw on TV since he doesn't read.)

the Republican Party was a fascist party. I keep remembering films, and stories of the German fascists of the 1930s and '40s, when a person (member) was egged on, or required to do the test. Are you a loyal German? Heil Hitler!

Trumpsters are members of an idiot cult, with a horrible worshipped idol. This did not happen in a vacuum. The reaganistas, the busheviks, the mouthfoamers on talk radio and Fox, the teabaggers are all part of the same bubbling cauldron--far worse than MacBeth's witches.

It's not hard to see the similarities with the Nazis, but also with historical puritans who accused people of witchcraft and such.

Back when I was doing genealogical research, I came across a suspected ancestor whose group of puritans from London had quickly left Massachusetts to form another settlement because of the constant accusations of impurity they had witnessed.

Those types of people think this way:
1. I WANT such-and-such to be true.
2. I'll try to invent ways to support it.

Republicans can be decent lawyers sometimes because that's how many of them operate too -- e.g., arguing for a particular client that's guilty or wrong.
It's certainly not a scientific approach to understanding the world.
