Gov. Cuomo announces state coronavirus positivity rate of 1 percent

Source: WBNG

NEW YORK (WBNG) -- Governor Andrew Cuomo gave an update of the state's COVID numbers from yesterday, showing one percent of the tests taken returned positive.

This is an increase in the positivity rate from last weekend where the rate of positive COVID-19 tests was at 0.86 percent and had been continually below one percent for just over a month. According to the statement, the one percent represents 1,005 additional coronavirus cases which were confirmed.

The Governor also said that the state saw four COVID related deaths yesterday.

Broome County recorded 37 new positive cases, and yesterday's rate of positivity for the Southern Tier was recorded at 1.2 percent.

Not wearing masks or properly social distancing. Fundamentalist religious people have been problematic worldwide.

Hopefully things settle down.

Elementary schools open next week, I think? We’ll see what happens.
