McConnell Says GOP Candidates Are Being Overwhelmed
Source: Politcal Wire
New York Times: On Thursday, in a conference call with a group of lobbyists, Mr. McConnell vented that the partys Senate candidates are being financially overwhelmed because of small-dollar contributions to ActBlue, the online liberal fund-raising hub.

Thanks, Act Blue, for making it so easy, with PayPal and a quick click of a button.

(45,806 posts)who contribute to Act Blue don't have a lot of money to give to politicians. Hell, they have less now because of the virus, but they're SICK of this creature who thinks he's Prez, & even more angry with the people in Congress who always support him, no matter what! They want you all GONE!

(1,156 posts)Power to people still exists, it just took extreme times to push the nation to the breaking point. Repugs have dinosaur brains with a 19th century set of values with their greed and graft. They managed to usher in a new era of corporate robber barons mixing in an unhealthy dose of naked racism, misogyny and homophobic hate. They are getting what they deserve now and hopefully Nov 3rd will see many of them kicked to the curb.

(35,675 posts)we're dealing with sociopaths. Here is how power works, and because Democrats aren't normally sociopaths, it has to be memorized:
Now, I know Bill Maher is unpopular with many, but on this topic he speaks the truth: power begets power.
If the Democrats regain it, this needs to be emblazoned on their foreheads.

Think I will donate to Act Blue again..........

PHOENIX Cindy Bishop is the sort of voter who has some Republicans bracing for a wipeout next month. Standing inside her garage, shielded from the 102-degree desert heat, Ms. Bishop, a 61-year-old medical professional, said she voted for Mr. Trump four years ago because he wasnt a politician. But then, she said, I got a taste of him and Im like, God, hes disrespectful theres so much about him I dont like. She is now leaning toward Joseph R. Biden Jr.
The inflammatory behavior that has alienated voters beyond his base has long posed the most significant impediment to Mr. Trumps re-election. But one week after he rampaged through the first presidential debate and then was hospitalized with the coronavirus, only to keep minimizing the disease as it spread through his White House, the presidents conduct is not only undermining his own campaign but threatening his entire party.
New polls show Mr. Trumps support is collapsing nationally, as he alienates women, seniors and suburbanites. He is trailing not just in must-win battlegrounds but according to private G.O.P. surveys, he is repelling independents to the point where Mr. Biden has drawn closer in solidly red states, including Montana, Kansas and Missouri, people briefed on the data said.
Nowhere has Mr. Trump harmed himself and his party more than across the Sun Belt, where the electoral coalition that secured a generation of Republican dominance is in danger of coming apart. There are limits to what people can take with the irresponsibility, the untruthfulness, just the whole persona, said Jeff Flake, the former Republican senator from Arizona. Mr. Flake is crossing party lines to support Mr. Biden, who made his first visit of the general election here Thursday.

And this from the above -
Wait wut?
And as a note - ANYONE who is on the east coast had more of an opportunity to "know about" this man BEFORE his TV shows, so they knew his reputation, and weren't fooled. But if you are sitting in AZ and only know the "bombastic and brusque reality show host", then they were soon to be in for a rude awakening, and have now been schooled on what it means to elect a "personality" rather than a "President".

(11,098 posts)BTW: If you're looking for somewhere to send some money, Joyce Elliot is tied in the polls with the GOP incumbent, French Hill for Arkansas 2d Congressional District. Hill is getting a lot of money from the GOP Congressional Committee which he is using to run dishonest ads - photo-shopped pictures, dog-whistles for the rural part of the district, etc.
Elliot has a real shot at turning one of Arkansas Congressional seats blue. She would be the first female AA Representative from Arkansas and the first AA Representative from Arkansas since reconstruction.
With some money for a get out the vote effort, French could be toast.
We need some DU love.
