Plans for a new 18-hole golf course were approved by Aberdeenshire Council on Friday, despite local objections.

The course is to be named MacLeod after Mr Trump's mother, Mary Anne MacLeod - who was born in the Outer Hebrides - and will be built adjacent to the current course on his Menie Estate.

. . .

However, many locals objected to the application, citing loss of public space and the impact it would have on water supply, private roads and nearby estates.

Sam Lowit, Morningside Avenue, Aberdeen, said: "It is clear that the existing underperforming development is not of benefit to this area, with low attendance figures and ongoing financial losses.

I wonder if he shouldn't look into building luxury prisons. Perhaps with suites dedicated to lifetime residents. But individual occupancy - no visits from Ivanka in your wet dreams, Don.

I can't build a deck on my back porch and I'm not $1 in debt. But he can build a golf course with $450M in debt? That's just so wrong.

Who actually is driving this? One of his sons? If so, why are we paying for Secret Service protection for them while they're on private business.

I think it's another money-laundering scheme.

Getting planning permission is a long way off building a golf course. He's broke and a billion or more in debt.

Trump sons take helm of company, eye domestic expansion

Although foreign deals are on hold, the company will complete existing projects, including ones in India, the United Arab Emirates and the Dominican Republic.

...
Some business has slowed as a result of the pledge to stall international dealmaking while Trump is president. But a US push is planned, and two new hotel chains are being considered — a four-star brand and a less luxurious line — possibly in states where Trump triumphed over Democrat Hillary Clinton last November.

Oh, they may "plan" to, but it will never come to fruition. The company, if you want to call it that, is bankrupt. Donnie as well once the indictments begin. If he does stay out of jail, he'll spend his last years like Randell and Mortimer Duke.

He'll have to fly Air Force One to Scotland to check his project, and this will create another location for aircrews to stay enroute from Europe to the U.S.

We can't get this grifter out of the WH soon enough.

I figure Putin and Deutsche Bank are out this time. So who else would lend him money? Raquel y Vidas? No one else comes to mind. The only collateral he has had for years now was his promise to use his ill-gotten office to work paybacks by executive order and legislation rammed through by McTurtle. That comes to an end in very short order, even if he does get Amy Phony Carrot onto the court.
