Gov. Brad Little Moves Idaho Back To Stage 2, Calls Up National Guard, But Resists Mask Mandate
Source: Boise State Public Radio
Idaho Gov. Brad Little is rolling Idaho back to a modified version of Stage 2 pandemic restrictions and calling up the National Guard to prop up a teetering healthcare system amid skyrocketing COVID-19 infections in the state.
Weve come to the profound conclusion that what weve been doing hasnt been working, Little said.
But the governor continues to resist growing calls for a statewide mask mandate, despite evidence that such measures have worked in other states.
Idaho is in the grips its worst COVID-19 outbreak since the first state case was diagnosed in mid-March. Deaths have also been rising sharply and health care officials say some hospitals are getting close to having to ration care.

(38,958 posts)He will spend the time, effort and money to call out the national guard, but wont do the simplest, most effective and most inexpensive thing calling for a mask mandate.
The Governor is a Dumbass.

(50,557 posts)Cecil Andrus (the last Democratic governor we had) was the best governor Idaho ever had. Phil Batt, Dirk Kempthorne, Jim Risch (now Idaho's most worthless senator...the somewhat-competent senator is the one who has to put a tutorial on how to pronounce his name on his Senate website) and Butch Otter were all about as worthless as three-dollar bills with Trump's face on them. Little isn't great, but he didn't have a hell of a lot of competition in 2018.

(259 posts)People who aren't wearing masks should be given a citation and asked to sign a waiver that wouldn't allow them to receive state or federal funds for treatment if they contact Covid 19. That might get them to think twice (maybe).
