President Trump has talked in recent days with associates about forming a new political party, according to people familiar with the matter, an effort to exert continued influence after he leaves the White House.

Mr. Trump discussed the matter with several aides and other people close to him last week, the people said. The president said he would want to call the new party the “Patriot Party,” the people said.

Mr. Trump has feuded in recent days with several Republican leaders including Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.), who on Tuesday said Mr. Trump deserved blame for provoking the deadly Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol. Polls show Mr. Trump retains strong support among rank-and-file GOP voters.

1) The largest will be the remains of the GOP Greed Over People. I call it the Rotting Elephant Carcass party. For the time being, it will be led by mcCONnell. He has clearly signalled he is done with tRump and wants him out of the party.

2) Second biggest will be tRump's party. He will take a signifcant portion with people like Gym "Medal of Freedom" Jordan, Nunes, Hawley, Ron Johnson, Graham, Boebert, Greene, etc. I call it the MAGA Q God Emperor of the US party. Cruz will have an agonizing decision whether to join the man who insults his wife.

3) Smallest will likely not be an actual party but a loose coalition. They might run as Independents. It would be the rational conservatives such as the Lincoln Project and the 10 Rs who voted for impeachment in the House. They would be the only party who really would work with Democrats, like in the good old days that trumpanzees only think they want to go back to. But they may not elect many Congress members at all.

Our government is based on a two party system. Bernie for example is officially an Independent caucusing with the Dems.

Although Trump could use this as a fund raising vehicle for himself, he does not have the discipline or smarts to lead a true third party.
