Trump on Wednesday morning departed the White House for the final time of his presidency, flying on Marine One to Joint Base Andrews, where a send-off ceremony is planned before he travels to Florida.
Trump, who has refused to concede that he lost the election and plans to skip Bidens swearing-in ceremony, briefly addressed reporters before walking to the helicopter with his wife, first lady Melania Trump.
Serving as president was the honor of a lifetime, Trump said.
He waved before boarding the helicopter.

Trump Departs the White House
January 20, 2021 at 8:22 am EST By Taegan Goddard
President Trump departed the White House on Wednesday morning for the last time as the commander in chief after four tumultuous years that shook the nation, choosing to leave town rather than face the reality that he lost re-election to President-elect Joe Biden, the New York Times reports.
The Marine One helicopter took off from the South Lawn of the White House at about 8:18 a.m. for the short flight to Joint Base Andrews in suburban Maryland, where the president planned to hold a farewell event with administration veterans and other supporters. After that, he and Melania Trump were to board Air Force One for the journey to Florida, where they will reside.

(3,010 posts)I've said this before -
Traditionally, the former president returns at the unveiling of an official portrait. But the images of neither Trump nor the hairy organism that lives on his head should ever besmirch the walls of the White House. His legacy is one of disgrace and destruction. Even the worst of his predecessors - e.g. Nixon, Buchanan, GW Bush, Andrew Johnson - deserve the respect of not sharing a wall with Trump.
Not even on the toilet paper.
