A mass shooting at a house party in North Carolina killed three people and wounded four others, marking the latest in a string of fatal shootings that has rocked the nation.

The Wilmington Police Department said they are investigating the shooting, which took place shortly after midnight on Friday night.

Police responding to the scene found that “a gunfight had erupted inside the home during a house party and seven people were struck by gunfire.”


“Three of the seven are deceased. The remaining four victims are being treated at New Hanover Regional Medical Center,” the department added.

That the recent spate of mass shootings means America is "getting back to normal". How sad to think that some people are just waiting for the opportunity to vent their rage on the world by literally spewing bullets.

12. This is in my town...

This happened a mile from me. Young people killing each other is sadly not unusual here( all the victims were under 23 yrs) Poor paying service jobs are the only employment options beside joining the military or a gang. That area of the city has long had the scourge of drug and gang violence. Politicians method of dealing with it is expressing mock dismay and concern while privately working behind the scenes to gentrify the neighborhood to price out the problem.
The guns are coming from “responsible gun owners” who leave their weapons in unlocked cars or unsecured at home. The guns are subsequently stolen and sold to these young people.
