Biden to announce all US adults will be eligible for coronavirus vaccine by April 19

Source: Politico

President Biden plans to announce Tuesday that he is moving up his target for all American adults to become eligible to receive a coronavirus vaccine by almost two weeks to April 19, according to a White House official.

Biden is also expected to announce that the United States has administered 150 million COVID-19 vaccine doses, the official confirmed, putting the president on track to meet or exceed his goal of administering 200 million doses in his first 100 days in office.

CNN first reported Bidenís planned announcements on Tuesday. The president is scheduled to visit a vaccination site at Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria, Va., Tuesday afternoon before returning to the White House to give remarks on the state of vaccinations.

Biden said during his first primetime address last month that he would urge states to make all adults eligible to receive a coronavirus vaccine by May 1.

1. I have a question......

I'm an American citizen, born and raised, but relocated to the Caribbean last summer... from San Francisco.

They are slow down here in terms of getting the vaccine, but I don't complain, we have a huge house with pool, etc., and we stay safe.

Am I eligible to get vaccinated in Florida after the 19th, wonder. I have a cousin in Miami that I could stay with for a few days.

Thanks in advance.

2. "Beginning March 29, all persons 40 years of age and older are eligible..."

Beginning March 29, all persons 40 years of age and older are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccines in Florida. To see Governor DeSantisí Executive Order click here. In addition, effective Monday, April 5, all Florida residents shall be eligible to receive any COVID-19 vaccine as prescribed by the Food and Drug Administration. The Pfizer vaccine is authorized for persons age 16 and up. The Moderna and Janssen (Johnson and Johnson) vaccines are authorized for persons age 18 and up.

3. There is another DUer, DFW, who lives in Germany.

They have posted they are coming back to the US to get vaccinated. If De Satan actually does what Biden says and opens up FL to everyone 16 and up, you should be able to get a vaccine.

Good luck! You do need to sign up online I believe and have an appointment. I don't know anyone that is accepting walk-ins.

5. Florida was pretty lax to begin with

and more states have loosened up their residency requirements so you should be able to get vaccinated in any state but check with the state and local governments first.

For example, DC, MD, and VA are open to each other's residents since so many people live in one and work in another.

4. now they need to re-balance the vax supply.....

There is a lot of excess supply in red districts that isn't being used. It's time to redistribute those extra doses to areas where people can't get them.

It's bad enough the gop'rs won't get vaxed; but at least don't let them hog supplies.

Maybe that will be the argument that gets them to vax.. "If you don't want these, there are some inner city families that do".

6. I couldn't agree more.

TN just opened up today for everyone 16 and older. I'm shocked, appalled, disgusted ... fill in whatever words fit ... by the number of people here refusing to get vaccinated. Of course, it's mostly the super-religious nuts who are convinced the rest of us are being manipulated. (That's precious, isn't it?)

Meanwhile, there are people around the country and the world who would just love to have a place in line. So, yeah, send it to people who want it.

I consider it a moral imperative. Even though I have reacted badly to vaccines and medications, I got vaccinated. There is simply no other choice in regards to doing the right thing. And the vaccines are safer than Covid, so it's a mystery to me why anyone would refuse one.

7. Not sure if they've done this yet in FL, I'm 36. Problem is finding a shot, though.

I've been keeping an eye out for my parents and everything around is just plain booked. Great if I'm authorized to have it, but I need the actual vaccine, too!
