Army officer running for Congress under investigation after questioning whether sleepy guy Biden is president
Stovall also conducted a campaign interview in uniform.
BY HALEY BRITZKY JUNE 01, 2021
The Army is investigating a reserve officer who used photos of himself in uniform in an ad for his congressional campaign, conducted a campaign interview in uniform, and said he doesnt think President Joe Biden is actually the president of the United States.
1st Lt. Alex Stovall, 26, says he is running to stop [Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez] and her cronies from taking over our congress and our country. His campaign video features photos of himself in uniform, and, while in uniform, he conducted an interview with One America News Network, a right-wing news organization that has pushed election conspiracies. (Stovall links to those videos on his campaign website.) ... I got a last-minute call so Ive been helping soldiers today, Stovall, who joined the Army in 2013 and is assigned to the 91st Training Division, 84th Training Command, explains at the top of the interview.
In a separate interview with Gun Freedom Radio, during which he is not in uniform, Stovall, a former non-commissioned officer, refers to Biden the militarys commander-in-chief as this sleepy guy in office, saying he doesnt think hes president.
Soldiers in the Army Reserve who are not on active duty are prohibited from participating in any partisan political activity in uniform, according to Army regulations.

(1,996 posts)This goof has a lot of nerve calling Biden sleepy- did he sleep through the election and miss the fact that Biden won by almost 7 million votes?

(16,864 posts)He's certainly not paying for it. Someone must have approached him and talked him into running. Republicans love to have black candidates. They think it gives them street cred and they like to do everything they can to get black voters away from the Democratic Party. I hope people are getting wise to their games.

And THAT'S your reason for running?
Maybe you should consider running to stop your cronies "from taking over our congress and our country, HUNDREDS of whom have been arrested and in jail?

(2,699 posts)Its hard for me to believe that a real reservist would do anything so publicly stupid in violation of UCMJ. Has the Army identified this guy as officer? enlisted man? can he be a poser just mocking the right wing?
Edit: OK, apparently he is, in fact, in the Army Reserves and the difference between his claimed bio and what the records actually show demonstrate that he is a bald faced liar.
So heres hoping the military can find a comfortable bunk for him in a stockade somewhere pending court martial.

(3,407 posts)Anyone who thinks the Military (Army, Navy, Air Force, etc.) is exempt of these nut cases and that we can rest assure they will do their duty to protect the land from domestic enemies, please think again.
Time after time the army has allied with totalitarians in other countries, my fear is that it can also happen here.
Who knows what deals repubs are crafting behind the scenes with the military...more wars, more money, more power, invasions, etc.? That is exactly how dictators negotiate with their military before taking over a country. Has anyone noticed that dictators always have the support of the military and that is why they can stay in power? The people from those countries who are under those regimes also thought that it would not happen to them, but it did.
On top of this, the guy Stovall is black, does he really think repubs like him? They will for a while until his use expires.

(16,606 posts)It quotes the radio host as including the following when introducing Stovall on the radio:
"...our freedoms that he and his fellow veterans have fought and died for are in jeopardy."
So is he alive or dead? Because it says he and his fellow veterans have fought and died.
Undead, maybe?
He does look like he's enjoying his 15 minutes of fame. And I guess he might as well, because it's probably going to be over pretty quick.
