GOP messaging guru Luntz advised Biden's Covid task force

Source: Politico

Frank Luntz, the Republican communications specialist known for his Fox News focus groups, has for months shared research with the Biden White House to help develop its strategy for reaching people reluctant to get the Covid vaccine.

In an unofficial capacity, Luntz invited members of the White House Covid task force into focus groups. He was also invited to be a guest on several briefing calls the White House held with TV networks where they discussed how certain terms used on air risked politicizing the pandemic, according to Andy Slavitt, who until June served as senior adviser to the Covid task force.

Reached in London on Wednesday, Luntz scoffed at those surprised that he would help a Democratic White House fight a deadly virus. It was a topic, he said, that shouldn’t be political.

“I don’t care if people b---- at me,” he said.

It is a really worth a listen.

3. Messaging is our greatest weakness. Striking to me that we don't have this capacity in-house.

We need to strengthen our messaging to folks who don’t have time to delve into the news, since MSM isn’t covering the bases for us.

Just putting this here… dark money is a prime example of an issue that needs to be broadly and effectively communicated in sound bites to the public: https://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1017&pid=667661

When it comes to messaging, the Dems are horrible. The fact that they have not realized this by now is mind boggling. You're absolutely right, the Dems should already have someone like Luntz! The fact that they have to hire a Republican to help them with messaging is so sad.

quite finger pointing. Start blaming and shaming.
And do it Loudly and Crassly and chase the rats who abuse under age girls, the tax cheats and the gutter snipes who lie publicly. They've had 4 years of immunity under trump.
Time for public tar and feathering.

....are, for the most part, against vaccination.

In a crisis like this, help from all sides is important.

Historically, I understand that Joseph Stalin advised FDR on how to fight the Germans. Should FDR have refused the help?
