1. I assume Biden does not "wear" a rosary, he carries one.

I was raised Irish Catholic like Biden, and wearing a rosary like a fashion accessory around neck or arm was considered blasphemous.
He probably carries a rosary in his pocket?

2. According to a couple of places he wears Beau's rosary beads around his wrist

From Good Morning America, 2017
Joe Biden on wearing Beau's rosary beads: It's my connection to him
Former Vice President Joe Biden and his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, open up on Megyn Kelly TODAY about the significance of Joe wearing his late son Beau's rosary beads around his wrist, the difficult moment they got to say goodbye to Beau

Barrons
Around his left wrist he often sports a rosary from the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico that his son Beau was wearing the day he died of brain cancer in 2015.

3. Ok thanks, I stand corrected.

It's usually not done, but in Biden's case I fully understand why it is important for him to do this.
If it helps him in the grieving process, I am all for it.

4. I was raised Irish Catholic too.

Wearing a rosary would never pass the nuns taught me. Never saw a Jesuit wear one either. I looked at the catechism and it does not appear to be forbidden. Still Not something I would do. And they do not belong on rear view mirrors. Thatís more foxtail than faith.

6. Right, the nuns and my parents would never have allowed it.

When I was quite young, I put a rosary around my neck and my mother had some words with me about it.
These are holy, blessed beads, not jewelry.

5. Well, now we know

Those saucy feather boa hats are called, "halberds."

Such a relief to know our president will not embarrass us now.

7. Don't trust the media

To always get esoteric details correct.

The helmet is a called a morion and the feathers are a plume.

The halberd is the big ass pole axe they carry. As a side note, the halberds are functional weapons and the Swiss Guard does train to use them.
