Biden delivers searing speech on Trump's culpability for Jan. 6 attack

Source: Washington Post

In a searing speech, Biden marked the first anniversary of the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol by painting in vivid detail the violence of that day — and, without naming Trump, by squarely blaming the former president for spreading “a web of lies” about the 2020 election.

“One year ago today, in this sacred place, democracy was attacked, simply attacked,” Biden said. “The will of the people was under assault. The Constitution, our Constitution, faced the gravest of threats.”

Throughout the speech, Biden did not mention Trump by name but constantly referred to him as the former president.

“For the first time in our history, a president had not just lost an election: He tried to prevent the peaceful transfer of power as a violent mob breached the Capitol,” Biden said. “But they failed.”

" “For the first time in our history, a president had not just lost an election: He tried to prevent the peaceful transfer of power as a violent mob breached the Capitol,” "

...when the right-wing in this country does fascism, it's not fascism, it's "freedom"...freedom to get shot or do what they want...

...I guess you have to be a right-wing German or Italian to be consider a fascist and a threat to democracy...

...thanks Joe, for speaking the truth...

It began during the 2016 election, when the debate moderator asked the nominees if they would accept the results of the election. Hilary said she would. T**** replied with a smirk, "Only if I win." Everyone thought he was making a sarcastic joke. Apparently, he wasn't.

He showed who he was a hundred times during his presidency, and the Repugs let it slide. Then he told the mob to attack them, and for a moment the Repugs had had enough and spoke out. Now all the Senate Republicans and House Republicans -- save two -- have fallen in line echoing The Big Lie and rewriting history.

"What are you going to believe, what you saw and experienced or what I tell you happened?"

The GQP has chosen Option B.

I can't say they carried all of it or anything but that 10 seconds I switched to them, but I would guess they did.

Nor did I stay to hear them tear it apart afterwards.
