(18,628 posts)First of all, congratulations to Ms Sanders, I hope she can apply herself to the medium and go far.
But the post points out that the network president is Rashida Jones. Now I'm thinking the child of Peggy Lipton from '60s TV "Mod Squad" and Quincy Jones. The same woman from Parks and Recreations who also produced "Hot Girls Wanted" and "Hot Girls Wanted: Turned On". I was more impressed that she went on to take over MSNBC than I was Symone Sanders for getting a slot. How is that not the headline?
Turns out there are at least two Rashida Jones. What are the odds?

(11,631 posts)You wouldn't think that would be so hard. She just graduated from college... her name is Adaela... the guy reading the names at graduation called her Ahh-dee--alla Honez...

(18,628 posts)I would have felt as impressed if you told me her name is also Rashida Jones. Why would anyone think I meant Jones was an unusual name?
The way people here put me in my place here you'd think Rashida Jones is the second most common name in the country next to Bob Smith.
I'm an idiot because I didn't know there were two of them in show biz. I'm sure now there are dozens more Rashida Jones working in television, but I haven't heard of them.

(18,628 posts)Paired with Jones it's still unique.
But I guess not this time.
Why would people think I meant that Jones by itself is an uncommon name?
