Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-N.Y.) was among a group of demonstrators arrested at a voting rights protest outside the U.S. Capitol Thursday.

Just before noon, protesters blocked a metal barrier car entrance to the Capitol.

After three warnings, there were 27 arrests for crowding, obstructing or incommoding and one for violating a traffic regulation, U.S. Capitol Police said.

“Today, Congressman Jamaal Bowman joined a voting rights non-violent direct action at the North Barricade of the U.S. Capitol Building and was arrested by the U.S. Capitol Police,” Bowman’s Director of Communications Marcus Frias said in a news release.

would have been arrested as readily. The FACT that they have not been arrested and still run loose is empirical evidence that enforcement of the laws in this land of "freedom" is unequal.

Attacking and disrupting the legitimate duties of our government is treated like it was a cross between a harmless prank and a legitimate political statement while blocking vehicular traffic is a 3-strikes-you're-out offense. From what I could see on the limited video - there weren't even cuffs involved. The office just holds Bowman's hands behind his back long enough for the cameras to catch the image. I'd bet money that there were no charges and he was free shortly after clearing the walkway.

I am willing to bet the Congressman was released before ever seeing the inside of a jail cell. Everyone accomplished what they wanted. If the Congressman wants to fight the arrest he can. As a member of Congress he is allowed to be on Capitol Grounds so it is actually a BS arrest, but that is what he was there for, he got his picture and press attention.

Now, where would an admirer have gotten that idea and why would such a person admire Bowman? Who's a person who who sees the entire Democratic Party minus Bowman as not real ones going to vote for? Or won't he bother to vote? Again, likely.

Clueless idiots like this are apparently listening to Bowman. He needs to clarify for them that Democrats are the good guys and Republicans the bad guys.

JD always refers to Democrats as "corporate Democrats," the "Democratic establishment" that can go to "Wall Street, Big Pharma, and fossil fuel executives to ask for big checks" as bribes "doing anything they can to stop us" because the "rich and powerful are happy with the status quo." That the "ideological center of Congressional Democrats still doesn't reflect the policy views of the majority of Democratic voters." "One year of a Democratic majority and not much to show for it."

Why would anyone seeing the entire Democratic Party except for a few "real ones" horrible and corrupt vote for Democrats? They wouldn't. Luckily there don't seem to be as many suckers falling for this scam as in 2016.

How strange that some cannot realize how fortunate we all are to have that choice. I'd say "incredibly," but America has many decent and sensible people who support democracy and aren't easily corruptible, and those people are represented in one of our parties.
