Key organizer of Ottawa COVID protests denied bail

A judge has denied bail to one of the leading organizers behind protests against COVID-19 restrictions and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Ontario Court Justice Julie Bourgeois said Tuesday she believed there was a substantial likelihood Tamara Lich would reoffend if released.

Lich has been a key organizer of the protest that paralyzed the streets around Parliament Hill for more than three weeks. The trucker protest also grew until it closed a handful of Canada-U.S. border posts. They have since ended.

Lich was arrested last Thursday and charged with counselling to commit mischief and promised during a bail hearing on Saturday to give up her advocacy of the protest and return to Alberta.

This led to the formation of a MORE conservative party (the Wild Rose Party).

The NDP, FYI, is Canada's very left wing party.
So Alberta got a $15 minimum wage and a bunch of other left wing priorities.

Also, "Western Canada" is bullshit. She doesn't speak for progressive British Columbia, just Alberta and parts of Saskatchewan.

Manitoba joined in 1870. That was the first amendment of the Canadian constitution (British North America Act).

This is important because of what her dimwit husband said in court. He said he wanted to assert his "first amendment rights". Clearly he has been fed a diet of almost exclusively US Reich Wing propaganda to the point where he thinks their constitution also covers Canada.

He's a racist scumbag with prior criminal convictions, but some woman who met him 4 weeks ago agreed to a $50,000 surety if he was granted bail and says the way the prosecution paints him isn't the man she "knows".
