Pelosi to leave isolation after negative COVID test

Source: San Francisco Chonicle/Kelly Huang

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Monday announced she has tested negative for the coronavirus after receiving a positive test last week.

According to a tweet Monday from the 82-year old San Francisco Democrat, Pelosi “happily” tested negative for the virus, and anticipates leaving isolation Tuesday under guidance of the U.S. Capitol physician and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Last week it was reported that Pelosi, who is fully vaccinated and boosted, received a positive COVID-19 test result on April 7. She went into isolation after receiving the news, and has been asymptomatic, according to her spokesperson.

She’s one of a number of top officials in Washington who have tested positive recently, including at least 67 guests who attended the annual Gridiron dinner in Washington, D.C. Pelosi was not among the more than 600 guests, including top government figures and journalists, who attended the high-profile April 2 event.

Went about how it should go for fully vaxxed and boosted people, even people of advanced ages.

I worry more about lingering symptoms and permanant damage, and I sure hope those skip her.
