Sandy Hook families to be dismissed from InfoWars bankruptcy case

Families of the victims of the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre will be dismissed from InfoWars' bankruptcy case, allowing them to continue their defamation lawsuits against InfoWars owner Alex Jones, attorneys said in court Friday.

I listened to this hearing The hearing was short. The bankruptcy had three debtors which were three entities with no operations, employees and small assets (the Debtors) that filed solely to try to force settlement of the state court cases pending against Jones and Free Speech Systems (Jones' main operating entity). Neither Jones nor Free Speech System were debtors in this sham bankruptcy. The Texas plaintiffs had dismissed the only Debtor in their cases and the Connecticut plaintiffs attempted to dismiss the Debtors from their cases. In effect in exchange for releasing these three Debtors with prejudice, the Texas Plaintiffs and the Connecticut Plaintiffs get to proceed with their cases in state court.

There were three very strong motions to dismiss this bankruptcy as being in bad faith that were set for hearing on May 27. Letting the Texas Plaintiffs and the Connecticut Plaintiffs out of this bankruptcy means that the motions to dismiss are moot. One reason for this cave by Jones is that Jones' attorneys knew that this bankruptcy was in bad faith and that it was dismissed, the trial courts would sanction Jones big time. Jones has already been sanctioned for $1.3 million in the Texas cases.

Jones spent a ton of money in this bankruptcy and got no real benefit
