MSNBC Crushes Competition During Jan. 6 Hearings, CNN Sees Big Boost While Fox News Retains Audience

Source: Mediaite

MSNBC topped Fox News in terms of total viewers, averaging 3.95 million across prime time.

Fox averaged a total of 2.92 million total viewers for its counter-programming, which is a small boost from the night before, which brought in some 2.58 million total viewers.

CNN, along with MSNBC, beat Fox News in the key 25-54 age demographic. CNN won the night with a big 733,000 demo viewers, while MSNBC had 573,000 and Fox landed in third with 537,000.

CNN also saw its total-viewer average skyrocket as the struggling network brought in 2.62 million total viewers – a major boost from its 517,000 average prime time viewers the night before.

Overall this is very good. Fox usually gets a bigger prime-time audience than MSNBC and CNN combined.

But I was disappointed to see that Fox had the biggest audience for post-show hearings coverage.

Most of MSNBC & CNN viewers don't need to have people explain to us what we just saw and heard.
Fox viewers can't think without Fox, they need to be told what to think.

... than MSNBC or any of the cable news channels. This isn't Nielsen ratings, this is just a small piece of the pie.
Also what about the people watching on their phones, tablets, laptops, etc.? What about DVR/watch later numbers?

There's no way to count ALL the people who saw the hearings last night. This is is just a small comparison of Faux Noise vs. everyone else, BUT it's not the sum total of who actually tuned in last night.

12. Here are sone "preliminary" Nielsen ratings
Fri Jun 10, 2022, 08:45 PM
Jun 2022

"ABC took the largest haul of viewers, earning 4.8 million of them, while NBC and CBS carried 3.5 million and 3.3 million, respectively."

"On cable, MSNBC pulled in a whopping 4.1 million viewers during the hearings, nearly four times what the network averages on a typical weeknight."

"Usually dominant Fox News Channel came in second place on cable on Thursday night, averaging 3 million viewers from 8 to 10 p.m. CNN came in third place with 2.6 million."

But as noted earlier, CNN beat Fox in the key 25-54 age demographic.

Live-streamed it, but wanted to rewatch some segments later on so grabbed a YouTube version. Surprisingly, it had a Fox logo.

we are continually duped into thinking that Fox did better than MSNBC ---a more accurate portrayal would be the combined viewership that refuses to watch Fox and is watching all of the other stations. Tucker Carlson has a paltry audience, we just let the media wonks tell us he's doing great

That Faux comes up with the most viewers it is in comparison to several networks, all of which come up with a total number twice the size of Faux claims.
The bottom third of Americans have found their cult home at faux.
We shall call them the turd of America.
