Obama calls 13 world leaders
David Jackson, USA TODAY
2:02PM EST November 8. 2012 - President Obama has been busy on the phone Thursday, calling 14 world leaders who had sent him messages hailing his re-election.
The list included Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel and President Mohammed Morsi of Egypt
"Since Tuesday evening, the President has been receiving messages from his counterparts around the world congratulating him on winning re-election to a second term in office," Obama said. "The President appreciates all of these messages and looks forward to continuing to work with all of his fellow leaders to address the serious challenges we face together in the world."
The statement added: "This morning the President was able to return some of these messages personally, by phone. In each call, he thanked his counterpart for their friendship and partnership thus far and expressed his desire to continue close cooperation moving ahead."

(8,747 posts)I bet it was all Netanyahu could do to keep from choking on his bile.
And if I were President Obama, the last thing I would have told him was
"Forget about any attack on Iran. You preemptively attack them, and you're completely on your own. We'll denounce you in the UN, and end all payments and weapon shipments of any kind."
