Romney campaign: We lost Florida

Source: Bradenton Herald

Romney’s Florida campaign has acknowledged their candidate lost in Florida as well. Romney already conceded the national race after he lost the other battleground states.

“The numbers in Florida show this was winnable,” Brett Doster, Florida advisor for Romney, said in a statement. “We thought based on our polling and range of organization that we had done what we needed to win. Obviously, we didn’t, and for that I and every other operative in Florida has a sick feeling that we left something on the table. I can assure you this won’t happen again.”

With Florida’s 29 Electoral College votes, Obama will have 332 votes to Romney’s 206.

“We feel we will be the official winner in Florida later today,” Obama campaign manager Jim Messina said. Preliminary results are due into from the counties to the state by noon Saturday. The final results are to be certified Nov. 20.

or then sticking their wounded feet into their mouths.

I've never seen a worse run campaign. Throughout the entire campaign we were wondering if anyone was at the helm, the level of stupid had become so epic. What makes them think they ever had a chance or that they deserved to unseat a popular president? The money, fraud and suppression thrown at this election was Biblical in scale, and even with that, the campaign could not overcome the sheer idiocy of the two candidates.

The amount of money spent (invested) was obscene. Where are these billionaire backers when kids go to school hungry, or foreclosure victims are living in cars, or cancer patients just give up and die because they can't get insured and the medical payments will not only bankrupt them, but the rest of their family?

I can't get my head around it. Family values my butt.

R/R can just go away. Please. For things like Rove, there isn't a rock big enough for him to crawl under, but at least I have my remote.

Well, that and my buddies at DU!

You lost because your party's policies would take America backward instead of forward. Your candidate was caught lying repeatedly, and never made corrections or apologies. Your candidate changed his position on policies to suit the direction of the wind, giving people whiplash trying to keep up. Your party is more concerned about millionaires and corporations instead of everyday Americans, the heart and soul of this country. There aren't enough millionaires to vote you into office, and this election proved they don't have enough money to buy the office for their candidate of choice.

Your party is disrespectful to women, and if the GOP had it their way, women would be at home having babies, cooking, and cleaning, and they'd keep their mouths shut. Minorities would work for whatever pay rate an employer decided to pay, for however many hours they wanted them to work, and they'd be happy with it.

The GOP has given in to the extreme far right with their crazy ideals and values. The GOP's economic policies that your candidate embraced were the same ones that caused the biggest economic recession in generations.

Your candidate is a hypocrite. Complaining about President Obama's poor job creation while at the very same time, his Bain Capital was outsourcing jobs to China.

The reasons why you lost could easily fill a book. Winning an election going forward will take more than money, and more than repeating the same tired old policies that never worked in the first place.

America has changed, GOP. Your party is heading in the wrong direction. America is moving forward, the GOP is not. That's why you lost Florida and the election. Expect more of the same in the future, because the GOP is WRONG for the majority of the American people.

Sounds ominous to me. Like more voter purging, less machines in "certain" areas, requiring ID's, false information on voting, "patches" on "certain" machines.

Rove himself couldn't believe, on air, that they weren't more successful at stealing this thing.

They need until Saturday what every other state did on Tuesday night? God, can they do an election right for once to try and make up for "blessing" us with W Bush in 2000? That state owes the country big time.

This just in: a new law has been implemented that requires all registered Democrats and other non-Republicans to stay no less than 100 feet from a polling place. A poll worker will note down your choices and add them to the vote total.
