Leavitt Upsets Mowers, Winning New Hampshire House G.O.P. Primary

Karoline Leavitt, a 25-year-old hard-right Republican who served as an assistant in President Donald J. Trumps White House press office, won her partys nomination on Tuesday for New Hampshires First Congressional District, according to The Associated Press.
The race had devolved into a nasty battle with Matt Mowers, a former Trump administration colleague, over who carried the mantle of Trumpism.
Unfortunately, tonights results did not go our way, Mr. Mowers wrote in a concession statement on Twitter at 11:25 p.m.
Ms. Leavitts upset victory means she will face off in November against Representative Chris Pappas, a two-term Democratic congressman representing the highly competitive district in the eastern and southern parts of the state. Mr. Pappas is one of the most vulnerable Democrats this cycle, with his re-election race considered a tossup.
If she wins in November, Karoline Leavitt could be the youngest person elected to Congress.Credit...Brian Snyder/Reuters

(8,964 posts)It can be a bit difficult to resist stereotypes, since of course "you can always tell". I suppose a certain facial hair "look" might be one of those telling categories. Since I'm sporting one of those snow-white things at this very moment, I could likely go undercover at one of their whacko events and otherwise go unnoticed.

(12,378 posts)are sophisticated to vote for a mainstream Dem. This strategy hopes that most Republican and indy voters are bright enough to recognize the damage this dolt can do to the country.
This rings me back to 2016. I was giddy that Trump was the Republican candidate. After all, who will voter that asshole?
Me? in the primary, I voted for Bernie.
So this brings us to yesterday's N.H. primary. The bad news is, this is New Hampshire. The good news is, women live in New Hampshire and Lindsey gave Dems the best gift, ever.

(2,190 posts)Leavitt simply out-assholed her opponent and her opponent Mowers was a big asshole. She's a "the election was absolutely stolen from Trump" kook. I simply do not see her doing well in the southern part of the state in the GE.
