Biden arrives in London to mourn the Queen

Source: CNN

By Kevin Liptak,

(CNN)President Joe Biden arrived in London late Saturday for a two-day visit honoring Queen Elizabeth II, the long-reigning monarch he says "defined an era."

Biden is joining leaders from dozens of other nations to pay their respects to the late sovereign, whom he met last year and declared afterward reminded him of his own mother.

On Sunday afternoon, the President and first lady Jill Biden will pay their respects to the Queen, whose coffin has been lying in state at Westminster Hall, before signing a book of condolence and attending a reception for visiting leaders hosted by Britain's new king, Charles III.

For Biden, it is a moment to reflect on a monarch who embodied a commitment to public service and whose life charted the major historical events of the last 100 years.

one of my first thoughts was, "Thank goodness it's President Biden and not that narcissistic adult-sized toddler."

Of course, if the narcissistic adult-sized toddler were still in the White House, we would have far bigger problems than cringeworthy representation at the funeral of a world leader.

Grateful, very very Grateful it's Biden as Head of State representing the United States.

I'll just hold on to this fact and try hard not to imagine the other.

(if he physically could). And if he couldn't do that he would stay in his hotel and watch TV as not to spoil his beautifully coifed hair-don't.

walk, stand, sit, sing and pray according to the script.

Other than a private meeting with the King to express America's condolences this is not the kind of trip to do any sort of business.

Did TFG even get an invitation?

Has anyone heard if MBS will be attending? He received an invitation, gawd knows why. That could be very awkward.
